
ALBANY — The College of Saint Rose men’s basketball team used a 13-3 run that started midway through the second half to gain control on the way to a 90-78 victory over American International at Nolan Gym on Monday.
Shane O’Dell started the run with a jumper with 10:32 left, and his layup gave the Golden Knights a 65-60 lead with 9:41 left.
Sean Dadey 3-pointer off the fast break made it 70-61, and Erc Fleming also scored in transition for a 74-63 lead with 7:31 left.
American International didn’t get within nine of the lead the rest of the way.
Fleming and Josh McGettigan scored 21 each for Saint Rose (2-1), and O’Dell finished with 18, helped by a 3-for-4 night from 3-point range.
Tray Alexander had 10 assists and 11 points for the Golden Knights, and Cartier Bowman grabbed 12 rebounds.
Walter Covington led American International with 15 points.
