ALBANY — Destine Perry scored 12 of her game-high 16 points for American International College during a crucial run spanning part of the second quarter and the entire third en route to a 58-50 win over Saint Rose on Tuesday at Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium.

After the Golden Knights ran out to a 26-12 lead halfway through the second frame, the Yellow Jackets called a timeout with 4:12 to go in the half. The visitors then went on a 32-8 run to take command over the next 14:12 of play, including 16 points off 12 turnovers and holding Saint Rose to 3 of 18 from the field during that span.

American International remained in control throughout the fourth. However, Golden Knights freshman Ryley Blasetti got to the line twice with around two minutes left and sunk all four free throws to bring Saint Rose within four points at 54-50. The hosts, though, were stymied from there.

Becca Townes led Saint Rose with 13 points and seven rebounds. Blasetti finished with 10 points as the Golden Knights dropped to 0-3 on the season.
