The Saint Rose women’s basketball stayed close with American International into the fourth quarter, but left Wednesday’s game at Henry A. Butova Gymansium in Springfield, Massachusetts, still winless on the season.

American International secured a 52-41 win, as Kayla Robinson scored 15 points, while Destine Perry contributed 13 points, seven rebounds and six steals.

Nina Fedullo had 15 points for Saint Rose.

Down 35-31 heading into the fourth quarter, Saint Rose (0-4) tied American International (5-1) at 36 after a 3-pointer from Isabel Sanchez with 8:06 to play in regulation. American International, though, registered the next dozen points, as Saint Rose nearly went seven minutes between baskets.

Saint Rose next plays Saturday vs. Gannon.
