MAYFIELD – An Amsterdam man found slumped at his wheel at a Mayfield gas station late Tuesday had a 0.30 BAC, state police said.

Lucas J. Biron, 31, of Amsterdam, was charged with one count of aggravated driving while intoxicated, state police said.

Troopers responded to the area of Route 30 in Mayfield for a report of an erratic driver. While on their way, they received an update that the driver had pulled into the Fastrac on Route 30, state police said.

The trooper arrived and found Biron slumped in the driver’s seat. Upon speaking with him, the trooper could smell the odor of alcohol. Biron was then unable to complete field sobriety tests and he was charged.

A Biron breath sample provided back at the station then came back with a result of a 0.30 percent blood alcohol content, state police said. The legal limit to drive is 0.08 percent.

Biron was released to appear in court later.
