TOWN OF FLORIDA – A driver from Fort Hunter was drunk when her car rolled over on Route 5S late Tuesday afternoon, state police said.

No serious injuries were reported.

Allison Elliot, 53, of Fort Hunter, was charged with one count of driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor.

The crash happened at about 4 p.m. Tuesday on Route 5S, state police said.

The first trooper to arrive at the scene found Elliot still sitting in the vehicle. When the trooper spoke with her, the trooper could smell the odor of alcohol and observed signs she was under the influence of alcohol, state police said.

Elliot was treated at the scene and taken to St. Mary’s Hospital for evaluation. She refused all blood alcohol content testing, state police said.

She was released to appear in court later.
