Albany should leave Cuomo case to state

Kathy Sheehan can’t control the shootings and crime in the city of Albany. She needs to leave Cuomo to the AG and the state of New York. P.S. Where’s Jerry Jennings when you need him?

Florida no model for vaccine distribution

To all who want to compare Florida with the New York virus response, as a former Schenectady County resident now on the west coast south of Tampa, you do not speak of which you think you know.
Here we sell vacancies by political affiliation, ZIP code, and VIP lists in those ZIP codes. And as mentioned in recent Letters to the Editor, get rid of the ones who keep track.
News organizations have to sue to get information through the Freedom of Information Act in the state that touts its Sunshine Laws as some of the best in the country. Goggle “Manatee County commissioners” to see how it works if you need to come down to get a vaccine.
If you would really like more, read how the new and old slate of commissioners have instituted the new conservative agenda with their antics regarding the county supervisor. It could take a while though to get through everything, since they were sworn in November.

Cuomo’s accusers had plenty to fear

I had to respond to Mary Jo Garofalo Venditti’s March 13 letter (“Why did accusers wait to come forth?”) regarding Gov. Cuomo’s accusers. She asked why they didn’t come forward until now. These women held government jobs and were probably afraid of retaliation by the governor. I don’t think they are lying. Gov. Cuomo has apologized for his behavior, so there must be something in these accusations. Just because he says he’s sorry doesn’t mean it’s OK. What about the victims?
I also take issue with your statement: “Let’s move on to more important things.” What can be more important than addressing sexual harassment XX_especially by an elected official?

Get the facts before making comments

Dave Bouck, regarding your March 13 letter (“Censoring Dr. Seuss is crossing the line”), you really need to pay more attention and not believe all the FAKE news like FOX propaganda news.
It was actually the Seuss publishing company that decided to not publish any more of the six books. Please educate yourself.

Bombshell report, the Washington post printed faults information about President Trump and his conversation with the secretary of state in Georgia after the election. I remember many people on here I won’t mention names but you know who you are that took that story and ran with it. This just goes to show that you can’t believe most anything that the liberal media is telling you, they have an agenda and if you have an agenda and you’re in the news business you’re pushing propaganda.

RAYMOND HARRIS

At least they had the credibility to say they got it wrong. So now they are batting .998. There is plenty more to convict Trump on so keep your crying towel close by.

BTW – what makes the Post liberal if they usually presents facts that document Trump’s lies, etc.? The media is not the enemy. Lies, misinformation and conspiracy theories are the enemy of the truth.

Yeah, don’t believe the “liberal” media, but watch Fox News as they perpetrate lies about election fraud. WaPo misquoted the president as telling the investigator to “find the fraud” and that she would be “a national hero”, but the recording revealed he actually said to scrutinize ballots in Fulton County because she would find “dishonesty” there, and that she had “the most important job in the country right now.” Six of one, half dozen of the other. The purpose of the call was to pressure officials to find fraud where there wasn’t any.

Good grief.
You’re a grown man and this is what you think is some kind of victory?
Let’s go to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and see what they have to say (since you didn’t bother going any further than your echo chamber):
~~~~~~~
Georgia elections officials said its description of a much-scrutinized phone call between Donald Trump and a top investigator wasn’t meant to be presented as a “word-for-word transcript” after a recording of the call revealed the former president was misquoted.
Deputy Secretary of State Jordan Fuchs told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Tuesday that the office’s initial report about the conversation between Trump and Frances Watson, the chief investigator, relied on her recollection.
A recording of the conversation, located on a trash folder in Watson’s email account during an open records request, was released last week. It revealed that Trump told Watson she would find “dishonesty” if she scrutinized absentee ballots in Fulton County and that she had the “most important job in the country right now.”
“When the right answer comes out, you’ll be praised,” Trump told Watson.
Earlier reporting by the AJC and other news organizations misquoted the exact words that Trump used to urge Watson to act based on Fuchs’ account of the conversation. The former president did not urge Watson to “find the fraud” and did not promise she would become a “national hero.”
“After hearing the tape, it’s clear that her recollection accurately portrayed the president’s assertions that there was fraud to uncover and that she would receive praise for doing so,” said Fuchs.
Yeah, nothing wrong with that conversation, is there?
Nor the one before it to SecState Raffensperger, right? You know, the one where he implores and pressures them to find him 11,400 votes (or whatever).
I think you’re disgraceful for continuing this delusion because you’re just one of many who are dragging our country’s recovery down.
Further, listen to that first conversation and tell us that doesn’t meet the definition of “grovelling”.
That’s what he was doing. Grovelling, and begging GA to cheat for him. To bend the rules, to rig the election for him.
Some winner, he is.
CYNTHIA SWANSON
Bill, did you even listen to the RECORDED conversation Trump had with Georgia’s Secretary of State in which he begged him to find over 11,000 votes? That’s not false information.
LOUIS RESTIFO
You call it a “bombshell report” that the Washington Post mistakenly printed faults information about President Trump, regardless of the fact that they corrected themselves.
I wonder why someone of your integrity and great character in seeking truth had NOTHING disparaging to say regarding Trump’s more than 30,000 lies over his four year term.
RAYMOND HARRIS
News Alert: US intel says Russia attempted to interfere in 2020 election. The Office of the Director of National Intelligence released its declassified report on foreign threats to 2020 US elections Tuesday, which concludes that foreign adversaries — including Russia — did attempt to interfere.
Russia’s efforts were aimed at “denigrating President Biden’s candidacy and the Democratic Party, supporting former President Trump, undermining public confidence in the electoral process, and exacerbating sociopolitical divisions in the US,” it says.
So even with Russia’s help AGAIN, Trump lost by more than seven million votes. Pitiful.
I can hear the muttering now. “Deep state! It’s a conspiracy by the liberal elites to control us!”
There’s always an excuse to avoid personal responsibility.
The irony of millions who actually are under the control of a petty tyrant is breath-taking.
William Marincic
Where are your posts about China trying to help Biden? And what about main stream media in the tank for Biden, do me a favor and do just a little bit of investigating look and see how many people in the Obama administration have brothers husbands and wives that work for the major news organizations.
LOUIS RESTIFO
Ray, you used the word pitiful,
In my opinion what’s really pitiful as well as pathetic is that approximately 40 plus % of the people in this country are ignorant, stupid or gullible enough to believe that Russia played no part in an attempting to influence the 2016 / 2020 elections.
That, or they knew what what was going on and condoned it in hopes of getting trump elected at any cost for reasons of personal financial gain, establishing deeper roots of white supremacy, promoting guns, hypocritical religious beliefs and or suppression of what made this country great, immigration.
And the saddest part is that listening to, believing and acting in accordance with the propaganda spewed from Fox and the like is as much a kick head for these conservatives as it is for the rest of us.
Hopefully my point won’t be proven, with the eventual loss of democracy. Looks we can breathe somewhat easier over the next four years.
Thanks to all for posting the facts and backing up Superman in his fight for “Truth Justice and the American Way”
