Update 10:58 p.m.: Tohru Takekoshi has been found safe, officials say. State police found him heading west on the Thruway near Amsterdam and he has been reunited with family.
Takekoshi, 85, had been last seen on Droms Road in Glenville and authorities put out an alert, asking for help in finding him, concerned about his well being.
But he was found safe later Wednesday.
