Montgomery Co. Sheriff: Perth man dies in Friday Town of Amsterdam crash

TOWN OF AMSTERDAM – A Perth man died Friday in a Town of Amsterdam two-car crash, Montgomery County Sheriff’s officials said.

Robert Paul Marshall 68, of Perth, was found unconscious at the scene and taken to St. Mary’s Hospital, where he passed away, officials said.

No other injuries were reported.

The crash happened just before 1 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Upper Van Dyke Avenue and Chapel Place.

Deputies arrived to find one of the drivers, Marshall, unconscious and not breathing. Deputies, Amsterdam police officers and Amsterdam firefighters attempted life-saving measures at the scene and firefighters got him to St. Mary’s, but he died a short time later.

The investigation into the cause of the crash and the cause of Marshall’s death continued Saturday, officials said.
