Jeremy Joseph Reynolds, 39, of Palatine Bridge, was charged with one count of second-degree assault, a felony, along with felony third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and misdemeanor fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Deputies responded to the scene just before midnight last Tuesday night for a call of an assault that left a man with a cut to his head, officials said. A release did not specify the location of the incident.

Deputies soon determined that Reynolds threw the folding knife at the victim, causing the severe cut, officials said.

The victim was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital in Amsterdam for treatment.

Reynolds was charged and was being held Monday at the Montgomery County Jail without bail, officials said.
