No one appeared to be injured and the driver of the van was out and walking around after the accident.
The driver, who would not provide her name, said she was OK, “just disgusted” by what had occurred.
The section of Van Vranken Avenue remained closed to vehicle traffic while a utility worker in a bucket used a tool to snap wires in an attempt to release the pole.
Power briefly went out in the area after the crash, but soon returned and National Grid reported no outages just before noon.
