High schools: Burnt Hills girls’ volleyball remains undefeated in Suburban Council play

Claire Isaksen had nine kills and assisted on 35 points, and Carlie Rzeszotarski delivered 15 kills as Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake defeated Schenectady in three sets Wednesday to remain unbeaten in the Suburban Council girls’ volleyball standings.

Callie Chevalier contributed eight kills and eight digs in the 3-0 Spartans’ 25-13, 25-10, 25-9 victory. Gelmajony Marrero had five kills and five digs for 3-1 Schenectady, and Savannah Petersen had eight digs.

Erika Macken had seven aces among her 19 service points to go with four kills and 10 assists in Shenendehowa’s 25-9, 25-14, 25-14 win over Shaker. Grace Almeida had five kills and five blocks for the Plainsmen. Peyton Strand had four kills and four blocks for Shaker.

Emily Norgrove put down nine kills, Lauren Hoyle was another key net figure with six kills and eight blocks and Guilderland swept Albany 25-22, 25-14, 25-12. Phoebe Popkoski had 17 digs for Albany.

Hailie Phelps, Bella Fuschino and Cialeigh Lyons served up seven, six and five aces, respectively, and the trio combined for 32 service points as part of Mechanicville’s 25-18, 25-18, 25-23 Wasaren League win over Stillwater. Molly Sheehan ha six kills for Stillwater.

Rylee O’Connor scored three goals, and Kortney Clark made seven saves in Scotia-Glenville’s 7-0 Foothills Council girls’ soccer win over Amsterdam.

Maria Stewart scored a pair of second-half goals, and Mairead Marsden recorded an eight-save shutout as Broadalbin-Perth topped Johnstown 2-0.

The Mechancville boys produced six goals in each half, and seven different players scored goals, in a 12-0 Wasaren League soccer win over Hoosick Falls. Colin McNutt had three goals and two assists for Mechanicville, Andrew Kraszewski had three goals and one assist, and Wyqie Aguda had a goal and three assists.

Scotia-Glenville beat Bethlehem 2-1 in a non-league field hockey game on goals by Olivia Geniti and Marlee Mancini. Hannah Pirano added an assist.
