High schools: Ballston Spa girls’ volleyball downs Shaker

Maggie Lyon served 19 aces, and Anna Pilkey had 11 kills to lead Ballston Spa past Shaker 27-25, 25-4, 25-7 in a Suburban Council girls’ volleyball match Tuesday.

Sarah Bozzo added four aces and assisted on 16 points for Ballston Spa. Peyton Strand had eight kills for Shaker.

Gelmajoney collected 13 kills and five aces, Kanishjoary had 10 kills and Marisa Gannon piled up 33 assists in Schenectady’s 25-22, 21-25, 25-16, 25-18 win over Guilderland. Lauren Hoyle paced Guilderland with 13 kills and six blocks.

Erika Macken had 20 assists, and Grace Almeida and Reagan Ennist had nine and eight kills, respectively, as Shenendehowa topped Colonie 25-13, 25-11, 25-18.

Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake beat Saratoga Springs 25-8, 25-17, 25-5 behind Callie Chevalier’s 15 kills and Claire Isaksen’s 29 assists and six aces.

Kathryn Braun had seven aces among her 19 service points in Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons’ 25-18, 25-8, 22-25, 25-15 Western Athletic Conference win over Duanesburg.

Rose Seredensky had 13 kills, and Chloe Ekstrin had 24 assists in Mekeel Christian Academy’s 25-17, 19-25, 10-25, 25-20, 25-17 comeback win over Middleburgh. Hallie Gasner had 10 kills for the Knights.

Galway got 15 kills from Julia Reedy and 11 kills from Amber Kolpakas in a 25-12, 25-4, 15-25, 25-13 win over Mayfield.

Andrew Krazewski scored three goals and picked up five assists as the Mechanicville boys’ soccer team topped Saratoga Catholic 11-0 to extend its Wasaren League unbeaten streak to 45 games going back to 2016.

Nick Covey had four goals and two assists as Amsterdam defeated Johnstown 8-0 in the Foothills Council.

Brayden Box scored two goals, and Amir Abdellatif had four assists in Ballston Spa’s 6-1 non-league win over Glens Falls.

Hannah Biscossi scored two goals, and Siobhan Farrell also had a goal as Mekeel Christian Academy beat Galway 3-1 in a Western Athletic Conference girls’ soccer game.

Hannah Bachorik struck for four goals as part of Mohonasen’s 9-0 Colonial Council win over Cobleskill-Richmondville.
