Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake secured a four-set victory in Suburban Council boys’ volleyball Monday against Guilderland.
The Spartans won 25-17, 25-17, 22-25, 25-9. Aidan Calhoun had 16 assists and five kills in the victory, while Ben Pearce had 13 digs and four kills. Kevin Cullen added six kills and Liam Calhoun had four.
Shenendehowa defeated Colonie 25-20, 25-22, 25-20. Bennett Wilson had 11 kills for Shenendehowa, while Joshua Slater had eight assists for Colonie.
Gloversville won 15-25, 25-18, 25-22, 25-17 in a Foothills Council match against Broadalbin-Perth. Gloversville’s Aireana Muhlberger had 39 assists and five aces, Maddie Avery had 17 kills and 23 digs, and Macey Salvione had 17 kills, 15 digs and six aces. In defeat, Lily Mitchell had 30 assists and Sophia Rogers had 10 kills.
In a Colonial Council match, Schalmont won 25-14, 25-19, 25-9 against Albany Academy. April Buechner had six kills and Alexa Knapik dished 14 assists in the victory.
Ravena won 25-22, 26-24, 25-21 against Cobleskill-Richmondville. In the loss, Kaitlyn Webb had eight kills and 12 digs, Bella Lucear had six kills and 11 digs, and Maryn Hill had 14 assists.
Tamarac topped Mechanicville 25-19, 25-18, 25 -20. Allison Motzer had 19 assists and Jordyn Sorel added five kills for Tamarac, while Mechanicville’s Jazman Desautels had 12 digs.
Shenendehowa girls’ volleyball picked up a 25-7, 25-6, 25-12 non-league win against South Glens Falls. Kasia Barletta had 20 digs and six aces in the victory, while Emma Paliwodzinski had 15 assists.
With three goals, Taryn Ringer was one of three multiple-goal scorers that led Johnstown to a 9-0 Foothills Council field hockey win against Glens Falls.
Kalena Eaton had two goals and an assist, while Nicole Simon had two goals. Emily Fleming added a goal and an assist.
Scotia-Glenville won 13-0 against Gloversville. Olivia Geniti had three goals and two assists in the win, while each of Lia DiCarlo, Angelina Regels and Abby Espeti scored two goals.
In girls’ soccer, Mechanicville and Greenwich played to a 3-3 tie in Wasaren League competition. Ryleigh Hopeck had two goals for Mechanicville and Faith Ingber scored twice for Greenwich.
Vanessa VanSlyke had two goals in Canajoharie’s 4-0 Western Athletic Conference girls’ soccer win against Fonda-Fultonville.
Ian Young scored three goals in Albany Academy’s 5-1 Colonial Council boys’ soccer win against La Salle.
