TOWN OF MAYFIELD – A 91-year-old Town of Mayfield man died in a fire at his home early Wednesday.
State police identified the man who died as Earl L. Hare, owner of the home.
Authorities were called to the home at 2364 Route 30 just before 1 a.m. Arriving state police patrols were unable to make contact with anyone inside.
The Mayfield Fire Department responded to the scene and worked to extinguish the fire. They then found Hare dead inside, state police said.
Investigators remained on scene later Wednesday as they worked to find the cause of the fire. An autopsy was also scheduled.
