Kyle Acker ran for three touchdowns, and Shenendehowa dealt CBA its first loss 46-7 in a Class AA football game Thursday.

Brody Vinzenzi ran for a Shenendehowa touchdown and passed to Dustin Lewis for another. Dylan Jones accounted for CBA’s touchdown.

Shenendehowa won its second straight after opening the season with a loss to Shaker.

Guilderland also went to 2-1 with a 48-6 victory over Colonie. Devon McClain scored three first-quarter touchdown for the Dutchmen, two on runs and one on a pass from Logan Broomhall. Broomhall later ran for a score.

David Romer turned in a big effort in Columbia’s 20-7 Class A win over Albany with six receptions for 122 yards and two touchdowns.

Niskayuna’s scheduled Class A game with Ballston Spa Saturday has been called off due to a COVID-19 issue at Ballston Spa. Instead, Niskayuna will play Schalmont Saturday at Mohonasen in a non-classification game. Schalmont had its scheduled Class B game with Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk called off due to a COVID-19 issue at Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk.

Erika Macken had 25 assists, Kasia Barletta had 30 digs, and the tandem combined for 28 service points as part of Shenendehowa’s 25-13, 25-20, 25-14 Suburban Council girls’ volleyball win over Averill Park. Rose Talty and Grace Almeida had nine and seven kills, respectively, for the Plainsmen.

Saratoga Springs overcame a two-set deficit to beat Schenectady, 14-25, 12-25, 25-21, 26-24, 26-24. Shannon McCloskey had 12 kills for the Patriots, Gelmajony Marrero had 11 kills and 30 digs, Savannah Peterson had 32 digs, and Marissa Gannon had 34 assists.

Niskayuna defeated Shaker 19-25, 25-18, 25-14, 25-18 as Cat Schiavi amassed 22 kills for the Silver Warriors, Katie Atchinson totaled 29 assists and five aces, and Laura Mason recorded 26 digs.

Gloversville beat Broadalbin-Perth in Foothills Council action 25-15, 25-21, 25-19 behind Aireana Muhlberger’s 23 assists, Madelyn Avery’s 13 kills, and Macey Salvione’s nine kills and six aces.

Jojo Mustico and Grace Letterman both served eight aces, and Scotia-Glenville beat Amsterdam 25-15, 25-15, 21-25, 25-8.

Juliana Tortello had nine kills, and Kathryn Braun and Marissa Correra anchored Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons’ defense with 12 digs apiece in a 25-14, 25-18, 25-22 Western Athletic Conference win over Mekeel Christian Academy. Braun also had 18 assists.

Ella Moses had five aces among her 13 service points, and Lorel Johnson had four aces among her 11 as Duanesburg swept Berne-Knox-Westerlo 25-10, 25-14, 25-12.

Amber Cole assisted on 39 points, and Madisyn Dineen had eight kills in Fonda-Fultonville’s 25-23, 25-17, 25-13 win over Canajoharie/Fort Plain.

Middleburgh got 11 kills from Jen Moreno Reyes and 21 assists and five aces from Anna Hooper in a 19-25, 14-25, 25-16, 25-17, 25-14 win over Schoharie.

Julia Reedy notched 10 kills in Galway’s 25-6, 25-7, 25-8 win over OESJ.

Ashley Cirilla, Jules Monlea and Gianna Viscusi supplied the goals as Schalmont beat Mohonasen 3-2 in a Colonial Council girls’ soccer game.
