High Schools: Four players score goals in Scotia-Glenville’s girls’ soccer win

Lucy Crounse, Lily Dempsey, Morgan Nichter and Maggie Obman each scored a goal in the Scotia-Glenville girls’ soccer team’s 4-2 non-league win Saturday against Ballston Spa.

Crounse also had an assist. For Ballston Spa, Morgan Leggieri and Maddie Wania each scored a goal.

All six of the game’s goals were scored after halftime.

Nevaeh D’Aloia had two goals and Patty Snyder had two assists in Mechanicville’s 8-0 Wasaren League win against Waterford-Halfmoon.

Gloversville won 9-1 against Johnstown in a Foothills Council boys’ soccer matchup. Emran Abbas had three goals, Tommy Kluska registered a goal and four assists, and Doug Cook contributed two goals and two assists.

Glens Falls won 4-1 against South Glens Falls. Evan Wiggins scored two goals in the win.

Scotia-Glenville posted a 3-2 win against Ballston Spa in a non-league win. Sam Storti scored twice for Scotia-Glenville, while Kofi Jack scored the game-winning goal off an assist from Connor Raven. Brayden Box scored both Ballston Spa goals off assists from Amir Abdellatif.

Niskayuna defeated Galway 23-25, 25-18, 25-14, 25-18 in non-league girls’ volleyball. Cat Schiavi had 25 kills, Katie Atchinson registered 47 assists and Laura Mason contributed 34 digs to lead Niskayuna. For Galway, Julia Reedy had 16 kills and Amber Kolpakas added 11.

In Suburban Council boys’ volleyball, Marko Gibbons set a program record with 14 aces in a Bethlehem victory against Guilderland.
