High schools: Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons girls’ volleyball downs Middleburgh

Victoria Jaworowski had 14 kills and five aces among her 23 service points, and Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons took the final two sets to beat Middleburgh 25-17, 24-16, 19-25, 25-18, 25-22 in a Western Athletic Conference girls’ volleyball match Tuesday. Kathryn Braun had 29 assists and 23 digs for the Golden Knights. Jen Moreno-Reyes had 15 kills for Middleburgh, Anna Hooper had 28 assists and Hallie Gasner had 15 kills, 14 digs and eight blocks.

Julia Reedy served seven aces and delivered eight kills, and Kylee Decker picked up 17 assists to lift the Galway girls to a 25-1, 25-12, 25-6 win over Canajoharie/Fort Plain. Kailey Jankowski and Sadie Underwood both added five kills to help the Eagles improve to 4-0 against WAC competition.

Gabriella Luna served for 18 points with four aces in Mekeel Christian Academy’s 25-16, 25-9, 25-17 win over Berne-Knox-Westerlo.

Racquel Gerstenberger had eight kills and eight aces to anchor Schoharie’s 25-21, 25-20, 25-17 win over Duanesburg.

Shaker rallied past Guilderland in the Suburban Council 25-27, 25-17, 25-19, 25-14, with Peyton Strand and Brianna Hardwick contributing 13 kills and 22 assists, respectively, for the Blue Bison.

Gloversville swept Mayfield 25-23, 25-15, 25-23 in a non-league girls’ volleyball match behind Macey Salvione’s 14 kills, Maddy Avery’s 13 kills, and Aireana Muhlberger’s 34 assists and six aces. Deandra Myers had nine kills, and Camie Hart had 19 assists for Mayfield.

Bethlehem defeated Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake in a Suburban Council boys’ volleyball match 25-20, 25-21, 25-20. Stephen Shaw had eight kills, and Colin Lynch had 18 assists for the Eagles.

Tommy Kluska scored two goals, and the Gloversville boys’ soccer team notched its first win of the “Fall II” season by getting past Amsterdam 3-1 in a Foothills Council game.

Kofi Jack scored thee goals, and Xavier Deluca assisted on of them and had the other goal as Scotia-Glenville beat Broadalbin-Perth 4-0.

Braden Boudreau scored four goals, and Charlie Clarke had two goals and four assists as Galway defeated Schoharie 8-0 in Western Athletic Conference play. Chris Maher also scored two goals for Galway.

Mason Snell scored OESJ’s first goal and assisted on Andrew Snell’s tally in a 2-1 win over Northville.

Kevin Mattis scored all three goals for Bethlehem in its 3-2 non-league win at Queensbury.

The Schoharie girls’ soccer team got five goals and an assist from Katie Krohn in a 10-3 Western Athletic Conference win over Galway. Megan Krohn piled up two goals and four assists for Schoharie, and Abigail Fagnani had two goals and an assist.

Olivia Harris collected three goals and an assist as part of Duanesburg’s 5-0 victory over Berne-Knox-Westerlo.

Quincy Hytko scored two goals, and Andraya Hunt shut out Lansingburgh with a 10-save effort as Cohoes beat the Knights 5-0 in a Colonial Council game.

Dani Rubino scored a goal and made four saves, and five Mechanicville players had multiple points in an 8-0 Wasaren League win over Berlin/New Lebanon. Patty Snyder led Mechanicville with two goals and three assists, and Maddy Shakow had two goals and an assist.
