Colonie police are investigating the death of two people after doing a welfare check on them.
Police said they responded shortly after 7 a.m. Saturday to 520 Boght Road to do a welfare check on a resident living there. Upon entering the home officers said they found two people in their 50s dead with gunshot wounds, one of which “appeared to be self-inflicted,” according to a press release from the department.
Police said both people lived at the house. Neither victim was identified by police Saturday.
“The police department is still actively investigating the incident, but at this time it appears to be an isolated incident, there are no suspects being sought, and there is no known threat to the general public,” the release read.
Police said more information will be released after autopsies are performed, which are scheduled to be done Sunday.
