After waiting nearly two years for a rematch with Fairfield after falling to the Stags in overtime in the 2019 MAAC women’s lacrosse championship game, Siena scored a measure of revenge Saturday as Mary Soures scored seven goals to lead the Saints in a 15-11 victory on Saturday in Fairfield, Connecticut.

The game was tied 8-8 at halftime, but Soures scored twice in the first two minutes of the second half to put Siena (5-2 MAAC, 5-2 overall) in front for good.

Kaitlyn Dowsett added a hat trick and Kerry Gerety had a pair of assists for Siena.

Fairfield (6-1, 6-1) was led by Elizabeth Rowe’s three goals.

Halftime score: Tied 8-8. Siena scoring: Soures 7-0, Dowsett 3-1, Bonomo 2-0, Brennan 2-0, Kmack 1-0, Gerety 0-2. Fairfield scoring: Rowe 3-0, Graham 2-0, Fort 1-0, Dera 1-0, LaVista 1-0, Horning 1-1, Grefenstette 1-0, DeVita 0-2. Goalies: Siena, Mervine, 9 saves. Fairfield, Conquest, 1 save, Proctor, 5 saves. Attendance: 90.
