High schools: Mechanicville boys’ soccer extends Wasaren League winning streak

The Mechanicville boys’ soccer team extended its Wasaren League winning streak to 50 games Saturday with an 8-0 victory over Hoosick Falls.

Andre Kraszewski and Colin McNutt had two goals and one assist each for Mechanicville (9-0).

Josh Catanzarita had a goal and an assist, and Jake Houle made 11 saves in Waterford-Halfmoon’s 3-0 win over Hoosic Valley.

Drew Callen scored on a penalty kick in the second half to give Gloversville a 2-1 Foothills Council win over Scotia-Glenville. Thomas Kluska also scored for Gloversville. Jaiden Alas scored for the Tartans (7-2 FC, 8-2 overall).

JJ Sankey scored seven minutes into overtime as Queensbury overcame a 3-0 halftime deficit to beat South Glens Falls 4-3. Jude Jordi-Donnelly scored twice for the Spartans (4-1-1, 4-2-1).

Amir Abdellatif and Brayden Box scored two goals each to lead Ballston Spa to a 5-0 non-league win over Broadalbin-Perth.

Bethlehem scored five goals in the second half to snap a 1-1 halftime tie and beat Glens Falls 6-1. Kevin Mattis and Eric Ofori scored twice each for the Eagles (7-0-1).

Christina Cummings had three goals and an assist, Brigid Duffy collected two goals and two assists and Bayley Duffy added two goals and an assist as Queensbury beat South Glens Falls 7-2 in Foothills Council girls’ soccer.

Madisyn Schell and Ashley Engle each scored two goals as OESJ beat Fort Plain 7-0 in a Western Athletic Conference girls’ soccer game. Alexis Klock added a goal and an assist.

Izzy Griswold’s goal gave Ballston Spa a 1-0 non-league victory over Broadalbin-Perth.

Cassidy McClement scored all of Waterford-Halfmoon’s goals in a 3-3 Wasaren League tie with Greenwich.

Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake defeats Niskayuna 25-9, 25-14, 25-13 in a non-league girls’ volleyball match. Carlie Rzeszotarski had 17 kills and five digs to lead the Spartans (14-0). Claire Isaksen added 32 assists and five kills. Niskayuna was led by Cat Schiavi’s eight kills and four digs.

Sami Westfall had seven kills, Lily Mitchell had 28 assists, and Oliva Fraser had 26 digs to lead Broadalbin-Perth past Johnstown 25-22, 25-23, 25-22 in a Foothills Council girls’ volleyball match. Bri Lawton served eight ace and had eight kills for Johnstown, and Sadie Blowers had a team-high 12 kills.
