SARATOGA SPRINGS – A pedestrian from Schuylerville was killed after being struck by a car early Sunday in Saratoga Springs, police said.
Lindsey Irish, 38, died at the scene, police said.
The incident happened just before 1 a.m. Sunday on Route 9, just north of the state park’s East/West Road, police said.
Police responded there for a report of a vehicle that had struck a pedestrian. The fire department also responded and provided emergency medical treatment to Irish, but she was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The investigation showed that Irish had been walking southbound along the east side of Route 9 just prior to the accident, police said.
“For unknown reasons Irish partially entered the right northbound lane,” police said in a release. A car traveling in that lane then struck her, police said.
There was no indication of alcohol or drug use on the part of the driver of the car, police said.
Police were assisted at the scene by the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Team.
