High schools: Mohonasen, Holy Names play to 1-1 tie in girls’ soccer

Matti Muller scored a first-half goal for Mohonasen, and Elizabeth Harris had a second-half goal for Holy Names as the two Colonial Council girls’ soccer teams played to a 1-1 tie Thursday.

Trinity Gulbrandsen made nine saves for Mohonasen. Sofia Pantoja made six saves for Holy Names.

Lily Farrell recorded a hat trick and Oliva Sidoti contributed two goals and an assist to lift Voorheesville over Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk 6-0. Chesnie Waddingham made 33 saves for the Indians.

Brigid Duffy had three goals and two assists, and Kylie Potter clicked for two goals, in Queensbury’s 8-0 Foothills Council win over Glens Falls.

Bre Eversten notched two goals, and Tamarac dealt Mechanicville its first loss of the season 3-1 in Wasaren League action.

Ashley Engle scored three times to propel OESJ past Berne-Knox-Westerlo 4-0 in a non-league game.

Harry Haworth scored four of his five goals in the second half as Albany Academy pulled away for a 7-0 Colonial Council boys’ soccer win over Catholic Central. Sa Kler Moo had four assists for the Cadets.

Zach Zeyak and Aidan Swere both had a goal and an assist in Ichabod Crane’s 3-0 win at Schalmont.

Lucas Cottrell turned a Liam Armstrong pass into a goal a minute into overtime as Schuylerville edged Hudson Falls 1-0 in a Foothills Council game.

Sam Rowley scored four consecutive goals after Jason Sankey connected in Queensbury’s 5-0 win over Glens Falls.

The Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons girls’ volleyball secured the Western Athletic Conference East regular season title with a 25-21, 25-14, 13-25, 25-23 win over Middleburgh. Julia Jaworowski had 12 kills for the 9-1 Golden Knights, Kathryn BRaun collected 29 assists, and Marissa Correra had 24 digs. Jenifer Moreno-Reyes had 14 kills and 19 digs for Middleburgh, Hallie Gasner had eight kills and five blocks, and Anna Hooper had 21 assists.

Lena Minkler served six aces and Lily Mitchell assisted on 15 points as part of Broadalbin-Perth’s 25-13, 25-10, 25-19 Foothills Council win at Scotia-Glenville.

Johnstown downed Amsterdam 25-10, 25-10, 25-8, with Bri Lawton and Sadie Blowers both serving eight aces for the Lady Bills, and Teianna Vetraro-Fraser served five aces to go with 16 assists.

Taryn Ringer scored three goals, and Emily Fleming and Meghan Mraz both knocked in two to lead the Johnstown field hockey team past Glens Falls 9-0 in a Foothills Council game. Johnstown is 7-1 in the league and 9-1 overall.
