High schools: Fonda-Fultonville football wins

Giovanni DiCaprio ran for 97 yards and two touchdowns on six carries, and Fonda-Fultonville also scored on a punt return and a fumble recovery in a 41-0 Class C football win over Watervliet. The Braves took charge with a 21-point second quarter that included TD runs by DiCaprio, Zen Myles and Jose Vargas. Myles added his second touchdown with a fumble recovery in the end zone in the game’s final minute.

Caden Mureness was 9-for-9 passing for 174 yards and four touchdowns, and he also ran for a TD in Johnstown’s 46-20 Class C win over Ichabod Crane. Chase Benton ran for 222 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries for the Sir Bills.

Lucy Crounse and Morgan Nichter both scored twice, and Kortney Clark made six saves in Scotia-Glenville’s 4-0 Foothills Council girls’ soccer win at South Glens Falls.

Christina Cummings had three goals and two assists, and Julia Keshmiri had two goals and one assist as Queensbury defeated Johnstown 8-0.

Ashley Engle notched four goals and assisted on another as part of OESJ’s 8-0 WAC win over Fort Plain. Kamden Battisti added two goals for the Wolfpack.

Addy Galuski and Mackenzie Koniszewski scored two goals apiece to propel Waterford-Halfmoon past Hoosic Valley 6-1 in the Wasaren League.

Andrew Snell had two goals and an assist, and Mason Snell had a goal and two assists as OESJ beat Fonda-Fultonville 3-0 in a boys’ Western Athletic Conference soccer game.

Sam Rowley and Connor Wiekierak scored two goals apiece and both picked up an assist to lead Queensbury past Johnstown 10-0 in a Foothills Council game. Queensbury improved to 7-1-1 in the league.

Brian Donlon had two goals and an assist, and Ian Collins scored on a penalty kick in Glens Falls’ 5-0 win over Gloversville.

Reid Rockhill scored a minute into the game, and Chris Jones tacked on a late insurance goal for Schuylerville in a 2-0 win over Amsterdam.

Sophia Rogers had eight kills and six assists, and Lily Mitchell had seven aces and 24 assists as Broadalbin-Perth topped Amsterdam 25-14, 25-7, 25-6 in a Foothills Council girls’ volleyball match.

Racquel Gerstenberger had 12 aces among her 33 service points and added five kills in Schoharie’s 25-7, 25-7, 25-11 WAC win over Berne-Knox-Westerlo.
