GLOVERSVILLE – A 15-year-old has been charged with the stabbing death of a man inside a Gloversville warehouse, police said.

Police did not identify the suspect due to the suspect’s age, or release further information about the person.

Police identified the victim as William J. Guzek, 59, of Gloversville.

Guzek lived at 37 E. 10th Ave., where he was killed, police said. That address also was described by police as a warehouse.

Investigators arrested the teenager Tuesday and charged the Gloversville resident as a juvenile with second-degree murder, police said.

The 15-year-old was arraigned by Montgomery County Family Court Judge Phillip V. Cortese in Fulton County Family Court; the suspect was ordered held without bail, police said.

Police did not release further information on the homicide, including whether Guzek or the teenager knew each other or any possible motive.

The investigation into Guzek’s death remained active Tuesday and further charges are possible, police said. There did not appear to be any ongoing threat to the public, police said.

Gloversville police are being assisted by the state police, Amsterdam Police Department, the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department and the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Gloversville Police Department at 518-773-4513.
