Siena’s Rehfuss named MAAC women’s lacrosse Coach of the Year

Siena women’s lacrosse head coach Abby Rehfuss was named MAAC Coach of the Year on Thursday.

Siena coach Abby Rehfuss was named the BSN Sports Coach of the Year as the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) announced the 2020-21 Women’s Lacrosse All-MAAC Team and major awards Thursday, as voted by the league’s nine coaches.

Rehfuss, in her fourth year with the Saints, currently at 9-2, is the program’s all-time leader in win percentage and MAAC win percentage.

Siena redshirt junior attack Kaitlyn Dowsett was a unanimous All-MAAC first-team selection. In 10 games this season, she has tallied 33 goals and 11 assists.

Siena midfielders Mary Soures and Kerry Gerety were both first-team selections along with Saints’ defender Emily Pomeroy.

Siena defender Emily Fiorillo was a second-team selection.

Siena’s Laura Bonomo was named to the All-Rookie team.
