SARATOGA SPRINGS – Saratoga Springs police are investigating a street fight last Saturday night on Caroline Street in which one man suffered a head injury from a knife or similar instrument.
The incident occurred about 9:15 p.m., after two groups of people got into an argument at a bar and were ejected. Both groups left the bar, but outside the argument continued and became physical, police said. When police arrived, they found a 33-year-old man with a head injury at Broadway and Caroline, with all other parties having left. The man was taken by ambulance to Saratoga Hospital for treatment.
Police said four people, including the victim, were involved in the fight, while others watched. A sandwich sign was swung, police said, and the victim was slashed with a knife or other cutting instrument.
Police said they are reviewing video and interviewing witnesses. Local businesses have cooperated in the investigation. At this time, police believe it was an isolated incident between groups that didn’t previously know each other.
Anyone with information is asked to contact city police.
