School football: Schuylerville takes Class C title


Schuylerville got touchdown runs from three different players, and scored the game’s first 28 points en route to finishing an undefeated football season with a 34-15 win over Hoosick Falls/Tamarac on Saturday night in the Section II Class C championship game.

Owen Sherman ran for a touchdown and threw a touchdown pass to Zach Bowen — both scores covering 15 yards — for Schuylerville (7-0), while Jack Dwyer added a 47-yard touchdown and Sam McGarrahan scored on a 12-yard run.

Hoosick Falls/Tamarac (6-1), which had outscored its opposition 204-25 in its first six games, didn’t get on board until the fourth quarter, when Michael Dagostino connected with Dylan Baker for a 60-yard touchdown pass. The Wildcats also got a late 75-yard kickoff return touchdown from Josh Colegrove.
