
SCHENECTADY – A mid-Tuesday morning crash on Congress Street, near Broadway led to a utility pole being sheared off and a section of Congress Street being closed.
The crash happened just after 9:30 a.m. on Congress Street, just up from Broadway, police said. No injuries were reported.
The crash left the utility pole broken and hanging by the wires. Police responded and issued the driver two tickets, a police spokesman said.
National Grid crews responded to the scene to fix the pole. Congress Street between Broadway and Second Avenue was expected to be closed for the repairs.
