Ballston Spa’s Brianna Bonds is trapped between Niskayuna’s Ashlyn McPartlon, left, and Maria Isakalakos Monday afternoon in the teams’ high school lacrosse season opener at Niskayuna. Niskayuna won, 16-0.

In her first game as head coach at her alma mater, Alexis Licht’s Niskayuna girls’ lacrosse team produced a dominant win Monday to start its spring season.

Niskayuna topped Ballston Spa 16-0 in a Suburban Council game, as Hannah Collins scored four goals, while Sophia Boler and Dharma Makarowsky each added three.

Licht’s debut season as Niskayuna’s head coach was delayed a year when last spring’s campaign was canceled because of restrictions related to the novel coronavirus pandemic. Before Licht was named head coach, she served as an assistant coach for former head coach Jason Bach.

“It’s been great to come back, and be here and be a part of this program again,” Licht said.
