Preliminary information indicated a FedEx truck became disabled in the center lane and was then struck from behind, a state police spokeswoman said.

Both vehicles then caught fire, the spokeswoman said. No injuries resulted.

Round Lake and Malta Ridge fire departments were among those who responded, Round Lake fire officials said on Facebook.

Troopers were working to clear the scene, state police tweeted just after 11:30 a.m. The work was expected to take until at least 12:30 p.m., the spokeswoman said.

Detours were in place.

The crash follows one April 27 in a work zone south of Exit 12 that seriously injured a DOT worker and injured a second.

Before that, a boom lift being hauled on a trailer struck the Sitterly Road bridge over the Northway in Clifton Park April 14, damaging the bridge section beyond repair.
