Troopers: Albany man poured cleaning solution into co-worker’s drink; Charged with attempted assault

ALBANY – An Albany man poured cleaning solution into a co-worker’s water bottle at the state Office of General Services on multiple occasions, state police said Wednesday.

Raymond P. Pounds, 33, of Albany, was arrested Tuesday and charged with three counts of second-degree attempted assault, felonies, and three counts of third-degree criminal tampering, misdemeanors.

Pounds is accused of pouring a cleaning solution into the co-worker’s water bottle, state police said.

The incidents were discovered when the victim noticed the bottle had been tampered with and it contained an abnormal taste, state police said.

The victim then notified his supervisor, who then reported the incident to state police. The victim did not seek medical treatment, state police said.

Pounds was processed and released to appear in court later.
