SARATOGA COUNTY – A town of Saratoga man was arrested Thursday on charges of rape and child sexual abuse, the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department said.
Nathiel J. Bradford, 36, of County Route 67, faces seven felony charges, the most serious of which is predatory sexual assault against a child, an A-II felony for which the sentence could potentially be life in prison. Other charges include first-degree rape, first-degree criminal sex act, attempted first-degree rape, first-degree sexual abuse, sexual conduct against a child, possessing a sexual performance by a child and endangering the welfare of a child.
Deputies said Bradford is alleged to have abused and raped a female under the age of 11 over several years and at two different locations, in the town of Greenfield and town of Saratoga. The victim was known to Bradford, and deputies said the abuse came to light when the victim told a friend part of what had happened, leading to authorities being notified.
Deputies said the investigation continues and more charges are possible. Bradford was arraigned before Galway Town Justice David F. DeVall and sent to the Saratoga County Jail without bail pending future court appearances.
