The driver of the other car was airlifted to Albany Medical Center for treatment of life-threatening injuries, officials said. She continued to be listed Monday in serious condition.

Jeremy E. Molnar, 27, of Greenfield Center, was arrested and charged with first-degree vehicular assault, a felony, as well as leaving the scene of a personal injury crash and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, felonies, along with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated.

The crash happened just after 5:30 a.m. Sunday on Corinth Mountain Road when Molnar’s vehicle crossed the center line and hit the other car head-on.

Officials identified the driver of that other car as April L. O’Donahoe, 38, of Corinth. She had been traveling southeast at the time, officials said.

While O’Donahoe was seriously hurt and airlifted to Albany Med, Molnar was taken by ambulance to Saratoga Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, treated and released, officials said.

Molnar fled the scene on foot after the crash, but was found and arrested by responding sheriff’s deputies, officials said.

Molnar’s license had already been suspended related to a prior alcohol-related offense, officials said.

He had also been arrested and released related to a DWI charge in Queensbury in March. Charges in that case remain pending, officials said.

Molnar was arraigned and released on $500 bail to return to court later.

Molnar was arraigned and released on $500 bail to return to court later.

This is the consequence this reckless monster receives in our criminal justice system? He nearly killed an innocent person, fled the police and was driving on a revoked license from a previous DWI conviction. This ruling proves some judges still treat our DWI laws as a joke. When the worst offenders can be sprung on a $500 bail to wreak further havoc on the community, it’s disgraceful that we allow this to happen. And why isn’t the presiding judge mentioned in the report? He should be embarrassed.
