The driver, who was not immediately identified, was taken to Ellis Hospital by Clifton Park-Halfmoon EMS where he was pronounced dead, officials said.

No one else was injured.

The incident happened at the J&S Watkins bakery, 1675 Route 9 at about 10:47 a.m., officials said.

The investigation showed that the truck had been traveling east on Halfmoon Crossing when it crossed a steady red light at Route 9 and continued across into the Watkins Plaza, officials said.

The vehicle then proceeded through the plaza parking lot and collided with the front of the bakery.

The cause of the crash remained under investigation later Monday by the Sheriff’s Collision Reconstruction Unit. Officials were withholding the driver’s name while the investigation remained active.
