SCHENECTADY – A woman was hurt in a Sunday night shooting in the Mont Pleasant neighborhood.
The woman suffered an injury to her ankle and was taken to Ellis Hospital for treatment, police said.
The incident happened shortly before 10 p.m. on Bridge Street near Francis Avenue. The initial report came in as the shots were fired from a vehicle, police spokesman Sgt. Jeffrey McCutcheon said.
Responding officers found the woman mid-block with a non-life-threatening injury to her ankle, police said. No one else was injured, McCutcheon said.
Schenectady firefighter paramedics tended to the woman and police could be seen looking for evidence.
Officers recovered two casings in the area, police said. Police were also reviewing street surveillance cameras.
No arrests had been made as of Monday morning. The investigation continued.
