Bicyclist seriously injured in Monday vehicle-bike crash in Gloversville

GLOVERSVILLE – A bicyclist was critically injured in a Monday evening vehicle-bicycle crash, police said.

The bicyclist was airlifted to Albany Medical Center, where the bicyclist remained in critical condition in the intensive care unit Tuesday, police said.

The crash happened just before 6 p.m. on East Fulton Street, near the intersection with Fox Street, police said.

The initial investigation indicated that the vehicle was traveling east on East Fulton while the bicyclist was traveling west on the same street, police said.

The bicyclist suffered significant injuries and was treated on the scene by Lake Valley EMS before being taken on to Albany Med, police said.

The Gloversville Police Department was assisted on the scene by the Saratoga County Crash Reconstruction Unit.

The investigation remained active Tuesday. Police did not release the names of either the bicyclist or the driver.
