Officials also said the man suffered an unspecified medical event that led to the crash.

The driver who died was identified as Jeffrey Anastasi, 52, of Clifton Park. He was taken to Ellis Hospital by Clifton Park-Halfmoon EMS after the crash, where he was pronounced dead, officials said.

No one else was injured.

The incident happened at the J&S Watkins bakery, 1675 Route 9 at about 10:47 a.m. Monday, officials said.

The investigation showed that the truck had been traveling east on Halfmoon Crossing when it crossed a steady red light at Route 9 and continued across into the Watkins Plaza, officials said Monday.

The vehicle then proceeded through the plaza parking lot and collided with the front of the bakery.
