“After a review of the needs for this event and our options, we have decided to shift the location of graduation this year,” Rickert wrote in a message to students and families. “We truly appreciate the efforts of Schenectady County and Schenectady County Community College to provide a venue for the ceremony, but we feel that this will result in a better experience for our students, families and guests.”
The ceremony is scheduled to commence at 6 p.m. Tickets will be available through the Times Union Center website; Rickert said more details about how to obtain tickets would be forthcoming. Each graduate’s family receives a total of four tickets.
Times Union Center staff will manage COVID requirements, but attendees will need to show either proof of vaccination or evidence of a negative COVID test, according to Rickert’s message.
