Pitcher Colin Campbell of Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons threw a no-hitter Friday against Northville.

Colin Campbell had one of those special baseball games Friday.

The Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons junior pitched a five-inning no-hitter and blasted a home run in a 13-3 Western Athletic Conference win over Northville.

Campbell, who has committed to Albertus Magnus College in Connecticut, struck out 12, including the side in the fifth inning to close out the contest. The three runs he allowed were unearned.

“He had his fastball going,” Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons coach Kacy Daus said of Campbell, who walked one and hit a batter. “They had a hard time catching up to it.”

No one was catching Campbell’s two-run drive in the second inning. The long homer highlighted a five-run outburst.

“You knew it was gone off the bat,” Daus said. “He hit it into the trees in left field. At that point, the tone was set.”

Campbell went 2-for-3 to raise his season average to .500, and drove in four runs to boost his RBI total to 15.

“He has been with us since ninth grade,” Daus said. “He is one of our leaders.”

Patrick Civitello went 2-for-4 with a double and four RBIs for the Golden Knights (3-6), and Jason Ford had a double, three RBIs and three runs scored.

Tyler Sausville and Tyler Figueroa both had two hits and an RBI in Colonie’s 7-4 Suburban Council win over Saratoga Springs. Alexander Teator went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI for the Blue Streaks.

William Coreno, Ryan Grimmick, Tyler Tesoriero and Andrew Kraszewski had three hits apiece, and Mechnicville scored six runs in the 10th inning to beat Hoosick Falls 11-8 in the Wasaren League. Jake Sparks homered for the Panthers.

Gavin Bodah went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, and Lucas Cassin went 2-for-4 for Waterford-Halfmoon in an 8-5 win over Stillwater. Jaxon Mueller had two hits and an RBI for Stillwater.

Zach Rice and Aiden McDonough both homered and were among five Tamarac players with multiple hits in the Bengals’ 18-7 win over Berlin/New Lebanon.

Charlie Darrah tossed a three-hitter with 12 strikeouts, and Tyler Spaulding collected a triple, single and three RBIs for Queensbury in a 5-0 Foothills Council win over Hudson Falls.

Bryce Hancock went 2-for-3 with a double, and Cohoes beat Cobleskill-Richmondville 10-1 in the Colonial Council.

The Cohoes softball team beat Cobleskill-Richmondville 19-1, with Lily Brennan going 3-for-4 with a triple and double, and Hannah Burgess going 3-for-5 with four RBIs for the Tigers.

Holy Names put together 23 base hits and topped Cobleskill-Richmondville 13-3 and Albany Academy 10-5.

Will Kiernan had two goals and an assist, and Kyle Griskowitz scored two goals to lead a balanced Saratoga Springs offense in a 10-1 Suburban Council boys’ lacrosse win over Colonie.

La Salle beat Schenectady/Mohonasen 23-0 in a non-league game behind Liam Manion’s eight goals and two assists.

Eliza Barton delivered six goals, and Macy Coval had four goals and an assist to propel Schuylervile past Scotia-Glenville 14-12 in a girls’ Foothills Council lacrosse game. Morgan Nichter had seven goals and eight points for the Tartans, and Olivia Geniti had two goals and five assists.
