MALTA – A Malta man injured a sheriff’s deputy and another person in a domestic call early Sunday, Saratoga County Sheriff’s officials said.
He’s accused of injuring the other person by shoving them to the ground, breaking their wrist, officials said.
He’s then accused of injuring the deputy by punching a glass door, shattering it, as the deputy attempted to take him into custody, officials said.
Matthew E. Scoons, 43, was arrested and charged with two counts of second-degree assault, a felony, and one count of felony third-degree criminal mischief. He also faces two counts of obstructing governmental administration and one count of resisting arrest, misdemeanors.
A sheriff’s release did not describe the injuries to the deputy and the other person further, including any medical attention received.
Scoons was arraigned and ordered held on bail to return to court later.
