Ambulance involved in downtown Schenectady crash; Vehicle knocked to its side, no injuries reported

SCHENECTADY – A Tuesday afternoon crash involving an ambulance at a downtown Schenectady intersection sent the ambulance onto its side.

No injuries were reported and no patient was in the vehicle at the time, police said.

The crash happened just before 4 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of State Street and Broadway.

The Mohawk Ambulance vehicle was running with lights and sirens when it was involved in the crash with another vehicle and then rolled onto its side. A third vehicle was also struck, a police spokesman said.

The ambulance crew got out of the vehicle on their own, according to information available at the scene.

No one in any of the vehicles reported injuries, police said.

The Schenectady Police Department’s traffic division was investigating.
