Severe Thunderstorm Watches issued for Capital Region Monday evening

ALBANY – The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watches for the Capital Region Monday.

Fulton, Montgomery and Saratoga counties are under a watch, as are Warren and Washington counties and points north, that is set to expire at 9 p.m.

Schenectady, Albany and Schoharie counties were added to their own watch mid-afternoon that is to extend until 11 p.m.

A couple tornadoes are possible in the large watch area that also includes all of Vermont and northern New Hampshire. Scattered hail and scattered gusts up to 70 mph are likely.
