Rachel Nadareski

Top 10

PARENTS: Tara and Dave Nadareski

COLLEGE OR OTHER PLANS: I will be attending Rochester Institute of Technology to major in packaging science. I will also be in the honors program.

AFTER COLLEGE: I plan to be working at a top manufacturing company as a packaging engineer, designing and creating packages that will stand out and be used all around the world.

WHAT HAS BEEN THE HARDEST PART OF THE LAST YEAR OF SCHOOL and THE MOST REWARDING: I would have to say that the hardest part of the last year of school was adapting to hybrid learning. I went from being able to see my friends and favorite teachers every day to only 2-3 days a week. On the other hand, the most rewarding part was being a member of the National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society and NYS Science and Math Honor Societies where I could give back to my community through volunteering.

WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED ABOUT YOURSELF DURING THE PANDEMIC/HOW HAVE YOU CHANGED: I have learned that I can adapt to any situation better than I ever thought. Throughout the pandemic, I was able to keep a positive attitude and find new ways to enjoy life. The pandemic taught me that we never know what tomorrow will bring, so we should make the best of each day. I feel like over the course of the last year I have become more independent and organized.

WHAT IS THE MEMORY OF SCHOOL YOU WILL NEVER FORGET/WHAT WILL YOU MISS MOST ABOUT HIGH SCHOOL: My favorite memories of high school include winning varsity soccer sectionals in 2019, scoring two touchdowns at the powderpuff football game, semi formal dances and senior prom. The thing I will miss most about high school is seeing my friends and favorite teachers every day.

WHAT’S IN YOUR MUSIC PLAYER: Nicki Minaj and Juice Wrld are my favorite, but I listen to a lot of other rap music. Occasionally, I listen to throwback pop music.

FAVORITE BOOK OR AUTHOR: “One of Us Is Lying” by Karen M. McManus and “The Hunger Games” series by Suzanne Collins.

BEST PART ABOUT GRADUATING: The best part about graduating is seeing that all of my hard work has finally paid off. I am excited to start the next chapter of my life and looking forward to all the new experiences that are yet to come.

WHO OR WHAT INSPIRES YOU: My parents inspire me to work hard and have fun.
