Schenectady County residents 60 and older can sign up to participate in a free picnic and drive-thru parade hosted by the Department of Senior & Long Term Care Services on Wed., July 14.
The event will take place between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. in SUNY Schenectady’s west lot, according to a press release from the county.
Participants will be treated to a bagpiper from Scotia-Glenville High School as they grab a boxed lunch. The lunch includes a sandwich, pasta salad, fruit and dessert. People can stay for music provided by the college’s Jazz Combo.
Those who stay will have the opportunity to win prizes.
Tents, tables and chairs will be available for those who stay.
People must register for the event, as space is limited. Those looking to participate must call (518) 382-8481 x9302 by Wednesday.
