The watch covers Schenectady, Saratoga, Fulton and Montgomery counties and is to be in place from Sunday evening through Monday afternoon, the service said.

Showers, heavy at times, are expected over the watch area Sunday night. Total rainfall is expected from an inch and a half to three inches.

“The ground is wet from recent rainfall and the expected heavy rainfall may cause localized flash flooding, especially in poor drainage areas and low lying areas,” the service said. “Some smaller streams may quickly rise out of their banks.”

Residents should monitor forecasts and be prepared to take action should a warning be issued, the service said.
