Jeffery Philpot Jr., 39, of Rugby Road, was arrested Friday and charged with one count each of third-degree robbery and third-degree grand larceny, felonies, along with second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor.

Philpot is accused of robbing the bank at 1620 Union St. over the noon hour and making off with more than $4,000 in cash, according to police allegations filed in court.

He handed the teller a handwritten note that indicated he had a gun. In the note, he also threatened to hurt the teller if the teller included dye packs.

Police based the charges in part on bank and street surveillance video, as well as a fingerprint match from the note, according to the allegations.
