ROTTERDAM – Two Rotterdam officers were unanimously promoted to new positions during the Town Board’s Wednesday evening meeting.
William Male was promoted to deputy chief, which has an annual salary of $132,331. He was previously a lieutenant in the department. Male was hired by the department on Jan. 16, 2006. He was promoted to investigator in 2011, sergeant in 2016 and then lieutenant in 2017. He received a bachelor’s degree from the College of Saint Rose in 2002.
Officer Patrick Farry, formerly a sergeant, was promoted to lieutenant. His annual salary is $109,573. Farry was hired by the department on Jan. 27, 2003. He was promoted to investigator in 2008 and the sergeant in 2018, according to town documents.
These promotions follow that of Michael Brown from deputy chief to chief in late May.
Brown said the two officers have a combined total of 30 years on the force.
