Troopers: Cobleskill man killed in Schoharie County ATV crash

SCHOHARIE COUNTY – A Cobleskill man was killed in a Friday evening ATV crash in the town of Seward, state police said Monday.

Troopers identified the man who died as Joseph M. Yerdon, 49, of Cobleskill.

Troopers responded to the crash at about 8:10 p.m. Friday on Loonenburgh Turnpike in Seward, state police said.

The preliminary investigation determined Yerdon was traveling east on Loonenburgh Turnpike on an ATV when he lost control and the ATV overturned. 

Yerdon was ejected from the ATV and was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.

The investigation into the crash remained ongoing Monday.
