Tuesday fire damages Mont Pleasant home in Schenectady; Firefighter suffers injury

SCHENECTADY – A late Tuesday afternoon fire damaged a home in Mont Pleasant and led to an injury to a firefighter, according to information from the scene.

The firefighter suffered an eye injury due to falling slate shingles, according to the information at the scene. An update wasn’t immediately available Wednesday morning.

Firefighters were called to the home at 1116 Willett St. just after 4 p.m.

Flames could be seen coming from the home’s attic window.

The Red Cross helped 11 people as a result of the fire, two adults and nine children ages 2 to 10.
