SARATOGA SPRINGS — The Friends of Saratoga Spa State Park will receive $75,000 in state funding to restore the Coesa spring house and install a replica of the original historic granite fountain, according to the state Department of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation.

The funding will support the restoration of one of the historic mineral springs locations scattered throughout the state park and downtown Saratoga Springs, popular destinations for visitors to the city. The funding will also support new interpretive signage.

Friends of Saratoga Spa State Park have been working to upgrade the historic spring house and establish a walking bridge across Coesa Pond to provide access to the Coesa mineral water for the first time in 30 years, according to its website.
